Cold chain & EU Regulation

Mastery of temperatures throughout the cold chain is a key-element to ensure : icone_cryo  quality icone_cryo nutritional value icone_cryo foodstuffs safety and to minimize losses throughout the transport chain.

The EU regulation (Hygiene Package) aims, among other things, at mastering temperatures by establishing requirements at different levels such as, for instance, preservation of products that are the most exposed during cold storage and transportation.

The HACCP process approach is the risk evaluation management tool. Based on the IFS & ISO 22000 regulations, it is recognized worldwide to be the most efficient in hazard control.

The requirements of the “Hygiene Package” clearly state the principle of producer’s responsibility. The EU regulation determines objectives to be reached, but leave the choice of the means to achieve them, to the operators.
